[plug] self shutdown

Well I only know this from when I didn't add my user account to the
"wheel" group during my second Gentoo install and this is what stopped
me from "su"ing, someone on IRC told me to check it..

Again.. I could be wrong, there may be other ways (more than likely)
but that was my experience... regurgitated...
