There might be - it depends on what browser you use. Mozilla and 
Konqueror both support browsing histories, but both permit you to 
disable them in the application preferences.

I advise you to go digging in your app preferences if you wish to 
disable this.

If you're looking for a more generalised logging facility, you'd need to 
use something like squid (a proxy server) or do some serious trickery 
with iptables.
