[plug] mailman+exim WOES

ok. I have a machine

yourguild.murdoch.edu.au

Its got mailman custom hacked with mysql backend for member list. I've
tested the backend on other machines and it seems to work

Problems:

When someone submits an email to the list its supposed to go into a
moderator queue (non mysql). Sometimes it takes hours to turn up there.

On sending , It doesnt seem to do anything.

Now granted theres always the possibility the hacks at fault, what other
things should I be looking at?

Any known gotchyas in exim config?
