The thing is, these disks were all at least 5 years old
They were in an old Dual-PPro200 Digital Prioris server, 9GB per drive.
It's as if they had a built-in timer that specified how long they should
live.. like an enforced MTBF :)

Anyone want a Digital Prioris 6200MP with hardware RAID (Mylex DAC960) as
well as 2x onboard Adaptec SCSI, and 3 working 9GB drives and 512MB RAM?
Make me an offer.. :)
(It doubles as a room heater in winter)
