Are you talking about installing a box in your house that "cleans" up
the lines to your phone so that they don't interfere with the ADSL and
vise versa? I believe this is called a splitter.

How many do you need? I believe they each drain a small amount of
electricity from the line. To many and the phone doesn't ring. I heard
somewhere that the recommended maximum was 4.

Most of that would probably be labor. I doubt a splitter would cost more
than $50.

Let me know if your interested in installing VOIP phones (can call and
be called from the PSTN with a normal 8 digit number) that look and act
like normally POTS lines except are dirt cheap to operate compared to
regular call costs and line rental. 

Ensure that you get an adsl modem that supports QoS. I just went out and
bought the BIPAC-7402W from one of my wholesalers and it's fantastic.
