Not that using a standard *really* matters - the input and output of the 
POE implementations are standard ethernet, just with a "contained bit of 
jiggerypokery" in the middle.. Maybe like using an encrypted tunnel..

If you were putting it across a switch or hub (or exposing other 
equipment to it) I'd agree though..

So long as the wiring is documented, and only used at low voltage....
