There are many articles. Some even say that the 900AP+ supports PoE
direct, but I have no evidence of that at this stage. I'm actually
running a sneaky form of PoE, I run a power supply at the bottom of the
mast, then run ~12V up the mast, then use a DC-DC converter on a chip -
v.nice - doesn't get hot - that then gets converted to whatever the AP
needs. (I forget what.)
I even saw a report that the 900AP+ can be powered direct with anything
between 5 and 25V, but I didn't investigate further because I already
had a solution - the claim was based on a chip on the AP board that acts
as a step-down or some-such (ask Harry :-) to protect the AP.
If you're really curious, I can attempt to hunt through my links - but a
google on hack 900ap should find some stuff...
