Is it one of these? (Lucent AMR Modem?)

Try the modem on this page, I recently got it working on my travelmate 740. (yay)

I'm using revision 2.7.10. Anything later than that appears not to work on a 2.4 kernel and I have 
not managed to get 2.6 working reliably on this machine yet.
