Yes, we used it here, and it worked great. We now have a complete Debian
mirror so we don't need the proxy, although we do still proxy
security.debian.org
If anyone's interested:

We were planning to bring the LinuxIT fileserver along to the installfest
- it has a complete Debian mirror (~100GB) as well as more Linux ISOs than
you can poke a stick at.
We can also bring a 24port switch, if needed.
