Dunno about an installer, libata will support the SATA ports but not the PATA port.
Jeff Garzik has the info required to support the PATA port from Promise but not had the time to 
actually add support for it yet.

Promise cards under libata rock! (Well under any kernel < 2.6.6 anyway)

It's disheartening to see just how quickly you can slam up against the PCI bus 133MB/s bandwidth 
limit though.
