The technique obviously works for people as you stated, but to give
consideration to trying to tip the odds in your favour, wouldn't it make
sense to put the absorbent sachets (not satchels ;-) into the sealable
bag and let it equilibrate before putting the bag into the freezer? (I
presume the diffusion of humidity through the drive's air filter would
take some time.) Only speculating about this in case someone goes and
tries it.
