Actually, I rememeber having a hard disk drive I had to give a slight 'bump'
on the desk to get it to spin. But I don't recommend this :)

How did the hard disk stop ? Was the computer on and then you found the hard
disk to be not spinning ? Or is it won't spin up on power up ?

If it stopped whilst the computer was on, I definately say its power /
circuit board related. Must say, I would doubt the little electronic motor
in the hard disk would fail - more likely circuit board. You might be lucky,
there 'could' be a fuse on the power in to hard disk.

Do what someone else suggested and check power - do you have a multimeter ?

cheers
