It'll be slow on USB2 as well - just not /as/ slow.

Load EHCI (USB 2.0/"High Speed") controller support? (this is likely to
involve a kernel upgrade to a more recent 2.4).

On my 2.6.3 system the module is 'ehci-hcd.ko' but I suspect its named
differently under 2.4. I don't have a USB2-supporting 2.4 kernel to
check with.
