My first experiences with a computer was with PDP7s. When we updated to
PDP11s, especially with the array processor attached, we were *really*
humming..

The company I worked for was Schlumberger Seaco. The PDPs were used to
collect, process, log data from equipment used in oil well logging.

If you approach them (their office used to be in Welshpool last time I
heard), they might have one or a few propping open doors... Never know,
they might give you  one and associated bits if you explain your
historic interest..
