Gah.  Ignore me.  This won't work at all.  I'll let James come up with
something intelligent instead.  There doesn't seem to be a built-in
mutt option for collapsing threads with no unread messages, but it
might be possible by setting "collapse_unread=no" and having a folder
hook collapse all threads when you enter a new folder?
