Also, as a side note..  flatbed scanners with film scanning
capabilities aren't all that fantastic really.

Thinking laterally..
Unless you are doing a lot and will continue to, you could just get a
Lide20 scanner. Mine cost about $90, and is supported. Just get your
slides printed..

I bought the scanner to get me by until digital cameras get cheap.
