[plug] rpm's for diff platforms?

the rpm will work, the problem lies in the dependancies.

you can mix and match packages across different distributions, aslong
as you are aware of the kernel/libc/<other libs like gnome/kde> versions of
your distro and the package in question.

if that sounds confusing, then the easy asnwer is 'no' you cant....

fyi: this problem is why building from source is so popular under linux,
because then the package 'links' against the libs found on your machine,
and you know it will work fine....

source rpm's therefore should be a safer bet than binary ones,
unless you are aware of the various critical dependancies (kernel,libc and desktop)
