The two I had refurbished were both LiIon batteries so, yes, they do do
LiIon batteries.

The laptop in question is a couple of years old, so depends on what you
call "modern" in terms of batteries. Don't know how different the
current generation of LiIon batteries are to the early ones.

If you want, go to http://www.batteriesplus.com.au/ and fill in a online
form with any particular questions and wait for a response.

I think there's a couple of other mobs in Perth that do a similar service.

Something unfortunate that one of the guys in the Cannington store told
me is that there isn't currently a facility in WA that recycles old
useless batteries such as those from dead laptops and UPSs. Apparently
they've got a big stockpile of old batteries just waiting for the day
when WA gets an appropriate recycling facility.
