I believe the schedutils are ported back to the 2.4 kernel and if
installed will improve the scheduling in the kernel. Also if the kernel
is recompiled you can improve it further. The only reason I know this
is because I've tested it out since if your running something other than
databases the 2.4 kernel /should/ be recompiled with the schedutils so
taskset and all of thats in it.
