Subject: [plug] Debian/Gnome Global Applications Menu
I have installed firefox from a tar ball as there wasn't a deb package
avalible for it[1]. I am wondering how I can edit the Debian menu so
that I can add the item to all users. I also want to be able to add it
to the gnome menu as lots of items in the deb menu aren't in the gnome menu.

[1] It is really nice that they now have an installer like the windows
one but I would like one that knows were abouts it should go and the
format of the linux file system. It installs to a directory and ALL of
its files go there. I am thinking of making a deb for it and installing
it properly. I have installed it in /opt (this is where openoffice is as
well). Should I install it somewhere else, I think that the LSB would
have some sort of template for me to follow for creating a /real/ installer.
