[plug] Samba server weirdness- uploads work, downloads don't

seems this a common one - here is part of a post to the gentoo list
about it: add this to your smb.conf - the poster mentioned that he found
docs that say this should be the default, but he had to specifically set
it to get it to behave.  Kernel bug rather than samba apparently
