[plug] CUPS and Ubuntu

Hi,

Question  ???
I wish to use CUPS with Ubuntu but find that CUPS will
only accept a root password  ie:

 tried   
                                           Username:   root
                                           Password:   ******

                                           
Ubuntu requires only one password during the installation process.

Can use the root terminal via the login password

Haven't figured out how to get CUPS to work with Ubuntu, still trying.

Other fellow users knowdoubt have struck this problem, so how did
they get around it.

Recommendations please.
