Yes, as others said, merely getting two windows boxes to talk can be a
challenge. Windows still seems to suggest not setting a password for
users. At the same time they will not accept a network connection if the
password is set to blank, you either need to set a password for the user
account you want to 'log in' to the file shares, or edit the security
settings to allow blank passwords for network use.
I'm somewhat philosophical about setting passwords on windows boxes,
because it doesn't seem to make a difference security-wise at the end of
the day.
