As an aside to the thread my understanding is that the resolvconf package is aimed at laptop/portable users who do a lot of network grasshoping and automates the manual re-editing of /etc/resolv.conf. I put it on my workstation and it wasn't worth the effort in a machine/network which isn't in a mobile situation so it's gone now. -- Cheers Russ.
