[plug] Off Topic - AS400

Hi,

I have recently purchased an old second-hand AS400 to
do some testing and Magic database development work on. I am not concerned
with most of the features of the machine and I am not a network
guy. However, if I can get my head around it and if it is doable
I would love to get Debian running on it.

In the meantime, I just need to get it to communicating with my
network. 

I have been wrestling with it for 3 weeks now and after reading 
tons of literature (Red Books) and receiving books on the topic
from USA (they are like hens teeth here) I am stumped.

I cannot seem to get TCP/IP working. I know the ethernet card 
is ok but cannot get it to start.

If there is anyone out there who is a bit savvy with such a 
beastie and would be prepared to provide an hour or so of their
time (I am more than prepared to pay to get this working) I 
would really appreciate a hand.
