Greetings to all,
After the AGM, I did some thinking about my comments to the meeting and my posts on this list about
a 'Newbie Guide'.
Then I must have been struck by lightning or hit by a runnaway train or something like that -
But any way I have made a start on "The P.L.U.G. Newbie Guide"
I have created a small website to demonstrate the structure of my thinking, obviously I will want
and need a lot of input from other people too - either willingly, or by torture or just by having
someone else dob you in.
I am not going to try and make the site "highly technical" or too complex, my target audience is
"Newcomers to Linux" and especially those who are contemplating their first wary steps towards
doing an installation - "Dual boot or otherwise"
So if some aspects are a bit too far out or incorrect - just bear in mind I am trying to reach out
to people who like the idea of trying Linux but do not have the confidence to make the first step.
So if you ambush me - watch out "I Bite" - but otherwise, all input - helpful, critical, or
humorous will be gratefully accepted. As will any contributions.
The proof of concept demo is available (mostly empty pages) for P.L.U.G members to view at :
http://members(dot)ozemail(dot)com(dot)au/~arie99/plug/
At this point in time I think we should not notify the general public until we can verify that the
site is 100% appropriate and correct for it's designated purpose.
Regards Arie
