Debate about whether this is a mailman bug or feature aside, you can
set in your per-user preferences whether you receive a second copy of
such messages.  Head over to the mailman page:

    http://spark.plug.linux.org.au/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/plug

Punch in your e-mail address, click on "unsubscribe or edit options",
and it's at the very bottom under "Avoid duplicate copies of
messages".
