I've used lots of these, commercial and non commercial.
The commercial products (mindmapper in particular) are quite a bit
"slicker" and have better integration with other closed source
products such at outlook, power point and other such "main stream"
apps used in big business.

but having said that.
The free (FREE and free) ones do the basic job of mind mapping
software, and do the job competently.. I'll continue to use the Open
Source alternatives unless I'm backed into a corner for some reason.
