Hello

ABC News Radio have just ran an annoying 5 minute segment lamenting why
programmers can't build computer operating systems that don't crash ...

It spent a while discussing "blue screens" and other symptoms of failure of
a widely deployed OS. I had Radio Rage at story writers who need a nudge
with the cluestick :-)

There is a survey about ways that you have damaged your computer and
it asks for a comment at the bottom of the survey.

If you have five minutes (or less) it might help their statistics to
suggest that there are operating systems that don't have a blue
screen of doom. Just a thought :-)

The site linked off NewsRadio:

http://lap.umd.edu/computer_rage/

has these links towards the bottom:

"
    * Comments on operating systems and software:
        o Microsoft and Windows
        o Apple Macintosh
"

Hmmm. No Linux link and yet when you look at the Microsoft page it has
heaps of entries about replacing Windows with Linux and not having rage
anymore. So I suspect the survey people just want to spew their own agenda
rather than acknowledge that some people don't need to rage against the
machine because they have a better machine.
