I have a Kyocera FS1010N.

It does around 3000-4000 pages per cartridge [cost is ~$100]. I can't be 
more specific because I still haven't replaced it. But I've used ~33% 
and around 1800 pages.

It is supported by CUPS. Just get the PPD file.

Costs around $400 these days.
