[plug] CUPS Log in

Hi,
Finally got round to setting up my printer on a Debian system after having had to do
a fresh  system installation some months ago

Have been trying to log on to CUPS to set up the printer.
CUPS asks for a username & password thats is fine but no matter what 
I type in the result is always the same  NO ACCESS ALLOWED.

The last time I accessed CUPS  was about 3 years ago
I think there was a default access but have forgotten, could someone refresh
my memory please.
