[plug] Test - No messages today

HHmmm... Maybe I'll just pull my head in... If most places are like
this, I think I've been spoilt. =:O

Not that I'm distracted by ICQ. I do get more emails than anything
else. Plus, there are people that will respond to my questions better
in real time than they would if I emailed them. (Plus I can tell if
they're actually there!)

Simon: Yeah, I do the same, but I'm also running openwebmail so I leave
that running most of the day. No need to check it either, it pops up a
window for a couple of seconds if you have anything new.

Phil.

I banned chat programs in my office (including ICQ) as I don't like
paying staff to chat to their friends and interupt their work to do it.

ICQ / chat programs (unlike email) have a tendency to distract quite
badly.

There is still more than enough socialising done via email, so more or
less I banned any kind of personal use of our network unless they were
taking a lunch break etc.

I think that is fair...
