[plug] Ubuntu, lost sound

Yep I've got the 5.10 release and live cds.. ahh work bandwidth.

I had that once (it was a permissions thing - make sure user is part of 
the audio group I think..)

Does it happen as root? (Bad I know, but a good test all the same to see 
if its permissions related).
