I am actually also looking into getting a UPS to support a server with
300W ATX PSU, 2 hard drives, 2 optical drives running an AMD Athlon
2500+ and not much else.

I would prefer it to provide uptime for the server (and optionally its
17" CRT) for up to 15 to 30 mins depending on cost.

But once again, I need it to interact with Linux including a "graceful
shutdown" as Chris requested.

Would love to here about any models that people have found to be
particularly good and what software requirements (currently running
Mandriva for example), installation quirks and other useful things there
are to know about since most dealers are expecting their products to be
used by a Windows server (yeah right).
