I've had good warranty experiences with ple, but a fellow posting on usenet recently had them sell him an LG flat panel monitor with 4 dead pixels. He took it back the next day and they refused to exchange it, despite it being considered faulty by LG's pixel policy and the PLE website saying that faulty components will be exchanged in the first week (after the first week monitors are warranty from the monitor company IIRC from the PLE website).

I had a similar issue with a seagate with a three year warranty from Netplus. It soured me on them for a number of years, particularly because they couldn't even be bothered to tell me that I could take it back to their distributor just down the street (and pay $30) after they had me drive all the way in there. According to them, if it's outside the 1 year warranty they offer, it's between you and the manufacturer. AFAIK other retailers use this practice, too.
I've had a couple of people I sent to Netplus to buy systems have some problems recently. One was a dead hard drive and they replaced it and reinstalled windows on it the same day (3 hour turnaround) and the other there was a component not installed and a few minor things, all fixed up with under a one hour turnaround. The problems I've had with Netplus are some time ago, so I'm hoping the recent good experiences are a sign that they've improved customer service from where it had gone to a few years back. Netplus also regularly advertises on Usenet and you can contact the boss there or via his email if there are problems that support isn't taking care of.
