[plug] Good fast Raid hardware Controller

pata
got an old adaptec that i tried (cant remember if was 1210?)
and I didnt seem to get much speed improvement
(hdparm 40's to 50's)
 
what sort of speed do you get?

We've used several Adaptec 1210S's here at work with 100% success. 
Course if you've got the money the 3ware 2 and 4 port cards, are 
definately the best (IMO)
