I wasn't trying to start any arguments or upset people - Neither was I trying
to suggest that we need to teach all the tricky ins and outs of linux.

I was simply trying to help out a pensioner friend who cant afford the couple
of hundred dollars a pop to upgrade windows. She was interested in linux and
simply asked where she could get some simple training in it.

These type of class are fairly readily available for windows systems - but not so much
for linux systems.

The only one that I found was the computer angels course.

I do think that there is a need for a basic and home admin class - whether through tafe or
plug is up for debate. But I have no wish to cause a upset.

I will tell my friend about the computer angels and see what happens from there.

Thanx to all for their input.
