[plug] Live CD to rip DVD

I seem to be having one of those brain fart moments every one is talking 
about.
I want a live CD or DVD that will reliably rip and burn a DVD for backup.
Do not want to give the little bloke a brand new $30 DVD to play with and 
anyway the menus are a pain in the bum.
So, needed a live CD, DVD to rip and burn DVDs.
Must be a live CD, DVD to avoid changing my base install.

I have tried Google, Knoppix doesn't seem to include what I want and I can't 
even get Google to tell me where Kannotix might be.
