Sorry, I don't have an answer to the question, I left early since my
laptop wouldn't boot the SuSe DVD. I saw that we can download SLED and
SLES SuSe desktop and server from the Novell web site. There could be
instructions there (hopefully). I plan to donwload and install the
server as well, I am interested to see if developing and deploying
JBoss apps on SuSe is as easy as Novell claims. I wouldn't might
switching from Windz.
Last night, I was very surprised that after talking about studies on
user behaviors, the only demos thay had were the wobbling windows, the
100 rotating desktops and the different degrees of transparencies for
the windows. I can't imagine that these features were demanded by
users! They look like really nerdy stuff to me. Humm, I wonder if my
Samsung laser printer will install seamlessly on SuSe desktop? How
about backups? RAID? System updates and rollbacks?
Also, having to download the C/C++ compiler and some patches to install
the "something" didn't look very common mortal friendly.
Anyway, the SuSe desktop looks impressive, I am looking forward to give
it a try.
Did someone take note of the Novell User's Group web site? I wouldn't
mind having a peek there.
Thanks
Fred
