[plug] Invitation to SLPWA social function (and AGM) on Thursday

The use of Open Source Software within business, government and the 
general public is experiencing a meteoric rise.  This phase of 
growth, in both awareness and opportunity, seems like an ideal 
climate in which to improve and expand the Society of Linux 
Professionals (Western Australia).

The first step towards this expansion is a networking event and 
social function being held as part of our Annual General Meeting 
this Thursday night (the 7th of December).  Anyone involved with 
the ICT industry is invited to both parts of the event.  People who 
deal with ICT industry members and organisations are also welcome.

The AGM will be held at 6:45pm, but to help us ensure that it 
proceeds smoothly we request that interested parties arrive by 
6:30pm.  It will include an overview of the future of the 
organisation, including the events and other activities to be held 
during 2007 and beyond.  The meeting is due to finish at 7:30pm, to 
be followed by light refreshments, networking and socialising with 
other ICT professionals.

The venue is the meeting room of the WA Government's Innovation 
Centre.  (Parking and entry is at the rear of the building.)

This event should be of benefit not only to Open Source 
Professionals, but any person or organisation who is considering 
using Open Source Software and may therefore (potentially or 
currently) work with such a professional.

Please RSVP (to secretary at slpwa.asn.au) by midday on the 7th of 
December if you wish to attend the AGM.  RSVPs for the social 
function would be appreciated, but are not required.
