There's no such thing as an OS for every one, every thing and every
purpose. This would be equivalent to saying there's one kind of house,
car, toaster that can suit the needs of everyone, which is just not
possible.

And I'd like to see Grandma get through a Windows install. Most people
have managed (and Microsoft has identified this quite aptly) because
it's preinstalled on your new whiz bang over priced piece of crap, so
you don't have to fight with the installation, drivers and such. I
mean, seriously, who the heck would know they've got this "Nvidia"
thing ''inside'' their computer and they have to go to Nvidia.com, get
a driver with their non-working ''Broadcom'' network card.. and so on.
At least with Linux you'll know straight away (at install time) what
things work out of the box.
