[plug] Mozilla problems

Hi all,

I've just finished a brand new mandriva 2006.0 installation courtesy of three 
cds provided by Leon B.

Firefox seems unable to access any internet address, whether it be in 
http://www. ... format or the four numeral url address format - it indicates 
'contacting http://www. ... but stops there, while thunderbolt just times out 
when trying to access mail.arach.net.au. (or any other mail server).

Has anyone any ideas please?
