I dunno about you guys - but there is literally a myriad of options for
networking two linux boxes together - here's a few ideas:

NFS
SAMBA
NCP
NSS
iSCSI
SSH SCP SFTP - via Gnome-VFS

i don't think it would matter what distro - so long as they both had the
appropriate drivers.
