Has anyone created a NSS volume using SUSE OES. Trying to get my head around this file system on Linux . Quite comfortable with it on NetWare.
What I want is NSS volumes on our servers.
It's to my understanding that in order to do this I have to first create the partition I want one /boot (Reiser format) and the other a 0x8E Linux LVM. My question is do I have to use the remaining space on the drive for LVM? or do I need to save some of the drive for other uses. It appears that after the LVM is created then I have to lay EVMS on that and then create my swap (has to be 4.9 G or larger, this is obviosly different than the Linux Swap where we use the 2 x RAM formula) and format the volumes as Reiser(sys and vol1). Once this is done then I have to create the NSS volumes on the same partition as the EVMS . What I discovered was there was no space available for the NSS Pools to create the NSS volume. Unless I'm wrong in my thinking I have to specify that the pool is the amount of space I want to use for creating the each volume. As an example if I use 100G for the EVMS I should have close to 100G of space to create my pools (minus file system overhead).
Can someone confirm this or set me on the correct path.
Thanks
