[plug] distro differences - SuSE scores others fail

I often find that I have to use a distro I don't like because of hardware 
problems. I favour Mepis at the moment, I was gonna install straight Debian, 
but it's installer won't work with my hard disks, just keeps going in 
circles. So I just used Mepis and updated the .debs with a new Debian 
snapshot. Afraid I just get lost with Ubuntu/Kubuntu (I'm used to logging in 
as root when I need to, can't figure out all the sudo stuff). :(
