Original post stated that I can access it with Firefox 1.5.0.1, on same
OS as I am unsuccessful with Opera.
It is not a matter of being able to log in - it is a matter of being
able to access the login screen - to be able to access the https web
site.
System date and time, appear close enough to the real thing- as shown in
timestamp of email messages as posted.
In the third call to the bank, I asked for and got put through to a
technical support person. He told me that he "uses Opera at home". He
told me that he would examine it from home tonight, and that meanwhile,
it seems like a fault with Opera or its certificates.
I have posted a bug with Opera.
Our ADSL connection is increasingly unstable and erratic, and can't
maintain a connection for five minutes, and we get a couple of minutes'
connection every hour or so, so this will be sent when I next notice
that we "have contact with the outside world".
