Excellent , yes that was it, did the trick perfect, thank you.
I must admit that i also got the -o loop bit wrong as well.
now it works, I'm happy.
i'd spent the last 25 hours downloading the Mandriva 2007 dvd iso from
the iinet ftp server and for some reason i ended up with an iso image
that was way bigger than the 100% size that it should have been.
now that i have been able to mount it , i have been able to extract the
correct contents and the download was now not wasted, as the final
image was to big to burn on a single layer dvd. don't know what
happened there, should have been downloaded in 20 hours and took 25
hours.
