I have found an interesting web site at :

They have linux software to update DVD firmware.

The software seems to be for Pioneer drives only.

I do not know how good the software is - but they seem to cater for major 
OS platforms.

Use with caution - proceed at your own risk.

Does any body on the list know of any other sites or software packages 
available for updating DVD firmware ???
