re dpkg, apt again.
I got some nasty root filesystem corruption, and after fsck see lots in
/lost+found . While my data is backed up, the system software is not
(yet :-) . I was hoping that the package management system might be able
to check the files and re-install damaged packages, assuming the
package database is intact, but cannot find a way.
Can that be done in debian/ubuntu?
Is there an equivalent to "rpm --verify", or is RPM the superior system?
:-)
Mike.
