From my limited experience,
I'm not a Ubuntu or Kubuntu user, but i have tried both the live and 
installed versions.

Both releases 606 and 610 of Ubuntu seemed to recognize both my pci DVB 
Sat card and pci SB Live audio card ok 
....without any additional work after live or install.

However Kubuntu (KDE - my preferred desktop) both releases 606 and 610,
neither card was recognized, therefore no audio and no Sat TV
....without any additional work after live or install.

I don't know why ?...... I decided to stay with Mandriva .
